Aloha My name is Bud Boland…
I am a self-taught potter who has lived on this island for over 20 years. I am strongly influenced by the Lava that keeps the Big Island Growing, which shows in many of my pottery pieces. I have a pretty good, if small, following of locals and tourists who say they love the unique and quirky styles of my work, including an “easter egg” surprise on my lava mugs, ensuring that you will never drink alone.
Bud is a resident of the Hamakua Coast. He is ruthlessy teased by his wife for eating everytihng out of bowls…. including pizza. He is working in Porcelain and Basalt Clay to produce bright colors to produce tropical colors and lava black for a Big Island.
